Obituary of Douglas G. Wainwright

Please share a memory of Douglas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Douglas George Wainwright, Sr., proud father, faithful husband and devoted Springfield Township community member died peacefully in his home on March 13, 2023 at the age of 62. Doug is survived by his wife, Mary Jane, his children, Doug Jr., Katie and John, his mother Charlotte and his siblings, Art (Karen), Beth (Rob), Dan (Kate) and Jim (Eileen). His love extends to his in-laws, including Dorothy and William (deceased) Hogan, Dorothy (Mark), Cathy, Billy and John (Michelle) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Doug was born in Mt. Holly on August 22, 1960 to Howard Wainwright and Charlotte Wainwright (Maybury). On October 1, 1988, he married Mary Jane Hogan, whom he loved for 34 years. In the upcoming years, Doug and Mary welcomed their children, Doug (27), Katie (25) and John (22), whom Doug never missed a chance to share his love with and remind them how proud he was of them. An avid outdoorsman, Doug's best memories were spent growing up on his Grandpop's farm, fly-fishing in trout-streams, taking his children camping or enjoying an old-fashioned by his fireplace surrounded by friends, family and his best four-legged pal, Rudy. In his youth, Doug traveled cross-country and internationally, capturing beauty through his love for photography. In 1994, Doug started Wainwright's Landscape Construction Contracting, Inc. For 30 years, he built his company from scratch and turned it into a respected and distinguished company. His reputation is unmatched and he always remained grateful for his employees, colleagues and clients. His 'perfect' ponds, patios, and services will forever be a mark he left on the world. Most importantly, Doug left his mark by being an amazing father, husband and friend to all. His pure love, radiant joy and humility will always be remembered. Funeral services will be will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Pastor Jessica Stenstrom officiating.
