Obituary of Gwendolyn Jones

Florence: Gwendolyn "Gwen" Jones, age 91 of Florence, New Jersey, departed her earthly life on Monday, October 11, 2021 in the Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit in the company of her loving and devoted niece, Jennifer. She was born in Baumber, Lincolnshire, England to the late John William and Kathleen Howsam Ellmore. Gwen called England her home before moving to Florence in 1958. She was a retired professor for The College of New Jersey. Gwendolyn was the founder and member of the Garden State Storytellers League and a member of the Florence United Methodist Church. She would be delighted if people everywhere would keep the art of storytelling alive and present in their lives and was forever grateful to those who loved and shared the glory of the story with her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Betty, Peg and Joan and her nephew, Brian. She is survived by several nieces and nephews including Jennifer and Mati Reinfeldt and Diana and Jim Kerstetter, several great nieces and great nephews, her extended family, colleagues, former students who remained in her life and caring friends. Her extended family in England will continue to fondly remember and love their Aunt Gwendolyn. Gwen's wishes were to have her funeral services and final disposition held privately. There will be no visitation.
