I have known Gwen since I became a member of Eta Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma International. She was always so personable to everyone, positive in her attitude and passionate about storytelling. She will be missed. May Gwen Rest In Peace!

Because of my eternal respect and admiration, she will always be my "Mrs. Jones". My heart will keep her as my personal hero! As one of her TSC students from over 40 years ago, I had the privilege in recent years of resuming our relationship. What a treasured memory I have of telling her that through the years she remained a guiding force in my life! I shared that while reading various books to my students which she read to us, I would tell them about her and how she helped me learn to be a teacher. I told her of my absolute certainty that because of her I have been a better mother!
It is my hope that the gratitude I feel for having had Mrs. Jones in my life grow larger than the sadness I feel upon her passing. She was truly one of God's best gifts to so many of us!
I love you Mrs. Jones!

I too was a former student of Mrs. Jones. I sent her a Christmas Card each year and she would also include a sticker that said Viva La JPE... Jones Group. She was the best professor I ever had. No teacher ever had a greater impact on my life or my classroom. She taught me how important it was to bring stories to life. I will miss her terribly. What an amazing woman!

Gwendolyn and I have been exchanging holiday cards for over a decade, ever since we met in LC at the convention. The notes in those cards were always kind, encouraging, warm, wise, playful, charming and elegant…all qualities that I remember her radiating in person.
As with all things of value in life, it is with her passing that we truly appreciate the blessing, the gift that she was in life. Unlike the loss of so many of those other things, our memories of her can continue to nourish us with those blessings and those gifts long, long, long after this sad time has passed.

I was a friend of Gwendolyn via. the magical Celtic music of Charlie Zahm. We enjoyed many a story by Gwendolyn at the Cabin concerts, Quaker meeting halls, and South Jersey libraries. Her introduction to “In the Bleak Midwinter” was almost better than the song! Peace, Donna Pinto

Gwendolyn had the gift of encouragement. Her little notes and pleasant talks will always be remembered. Her gift of story telling will go on and on with those she taught and encouraged. She will be remembered as we tell her stories. She made a difference in this our world. She made a difference in my life when I most needed it... I am so very grateful...Madge Powis, storyteller.

Dear Family & Extended Family of Gwendolyn -
There are so many of us who are deeply saddened by our loss of Gwendolyn.
For the nearly 40 years that I served as Branch head at the Cadwalader Branch of the Trenton City Library, and now through my ten years of retirement
Gwendolyn and the Garden State Storytellers League
supported and promoted all the best in children’s literature.
Even as we miss Gwendolyn, she will always live in our hearts and minds as we continue to read, enjoy and share stories and books with children of all ages.
