To The Family of Janis T. Flanagan,
As I express my condolence with many continued prayers, I want each of you to know that Janis will always be remembered as a calm, kind and caring individual. A professional friendship for more than thirty years, I am reminded of her supportiveness of the Health Careers Program, and its students, at Montclair State University! She certainly made it a little easier when I assisted students of color in realizing their career goals of becoming physicians, dentists, other health care providers, as well as other science professionals! Rest peacefully Janis!

My sincerest condolences to Jan's family. Janis, was one of the most kind hearted leaders I ever had the honor to meet. She was dedicated to making the world a better place through her advocacy efforts in higher education. All she did, came from her heart. I will never forget the one day I was able to spend time with her in Trenton. She educated me on Trenton's rich history and encouraged me to follow my heart and continue to serve students in the EOF program. We followed up this meeting with a future leadership training for students about a year later. These EOF students were blown away by seeing the leadership that is housed in EOF central office and she was a part of this outstanding leadership. Truly, thank you Jan for touching so many lives and just being an outstanding person. You will be missed by many.

First and foremost, Jan was a beautiful person, full of life, with a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. We met over 30 years ago when I came into the EOF Family and she was at one time my program specialist. She loved her EOF Family, the EOF students and staff on-campuses and in the Central Office. She was knowledgeable and guided you for work, a blast to be around at conferences, was dedicated, and family-oriented. We shared a love of cats and cat photos on Facebook.
May she Rest In Peace! Prayers to her family and friends. She will be missed by all.

Janis was a dear friend and colleague who will be missed by her EOF Central Office family, as well as her friends in the EOF campus community. Her passion and commitment to the EOF program, its mission students and staff was unwavering. She was intelligent, outspoken, creative, generous, witty and a practical joker. Janis and the other EOF fiscal staff members often made it possible to provide the EOF campus programs with small budget increases even when the State appropriation remained flat. Janis loved her cats, manual transmission vehicles and fly fishing. Rest in peace Janis
