Dear Sandy, Nick, Gina, Olivia and the entire Brown family,
Our thoughts are prayers are with you all at this time. It was over 40 years ago and seems like yesterday when we were playing softball or volleyball in my parents back yard in Edgewater Park. Not sure where all the years went, but Lonny certainly made them good for anyone he knew. Lonny was one of those that made a huge impact in his service to community and most of all his family. He was fortunate to have you all take care watch over him. We hope that happy times of the past soon fill your hearts and minds turning sad tears into happy ones. Thank you Lonny for being the person you were and rest in peace.
Love,
Geri & Tim Scassero

Lonney was my training officer when I joined the police force. He made learning the "on-the-job" training enjoyable and completed the necessary transition learning from the police academy. He was not only my mentor, but became a vey close friend for life.
Lonney was the type of police officer you would want to come when you needed help. He always took the appropriate action. He could be tough when needed, but also very compassionate and go the extra step to help those in need.
Lonney NEVER complained. In fact, when asked "how are you?", he would reply, "Never had a bad day!". In my my most recent conversation with him, he told me how lucky he was to have the love, support and help of his family, especially his wife.
My most sincere condolences to family, and friends like me whom he made feel like family.
Lonney, wherever you are go in your afterlife, I want you to do what you would tell us when we were going somewhere, no matter what the season was, "Watch the ice!"
Love ya brother!
