Obituary of Jerry J. Kruse

Florence: Jerry J. Kruse, age 80, of Florence, New Jersey departed this life peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born in Maquoketa, Iowa to the late Marvin Kruse and Alta K. Lampe Kruse. He was a resident of Florence for the past 56 years. Jerry retired in 2003 as an instructor and counselor for the New Lisbon Developmental Center in New Lisbon after many years of dedicated service. Jerry served his country honorably in the US Army and retired from the US Army National Guard with 17 years of exemplary service. Jerry and his wife, Elaine loved to travel. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and will be fondly remembered for his clever personality. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pam Meyer. Jerry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years Elaine G. Kruse (nee Amabili), his children Susan Cole (Mark) and Jay Kruse (Jody), and his grandchildren Jacob Cole, Matthew Cole, Eric Cole, Meredith Kruse, and Melanie Kruse. In accordance with Jerry’s wishes funeral services and final disposition in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township will be held privately. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to St. Jude Children`s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105.
