Obituary of Abigail Ruth Lake

Pemberton Borough: Abigail Ruth Lake age 84 of Pemberton Borough, New Jersey entered her eternal life on Sunday, April 16, 2023. Mrs. Lake was born in Trenton to the late William I. and Ruth E. Sheaffer Leonard. She was proud to call Pemberton Borough her home for the majority of her life and faithfully supported her community. Abigail was a retired registered nurse with the practice of Dr. John C. Mutch in Moorestown with 25 years of dedicated service. She took great pride caring for her home and tending her garden. She was a gifted conversationalist who enjoyed talking on the phone daily with her family and friends. Abigail was always eager to participate in social activities and mixed well socially at family gatherings and Holiday events. She was well-bred and practiced social etiquette throughout her life, never neglecting to acknowledge someone’s hospitality or kindness shown to her. Perhaps, the highlight of her day always included her trips to do her banking and shopping. She will be affectionately remembered as a faithful and loving caregiver to her parents and loving and devoted wife to her husband. Mrs. Lake was a member of The United Methodist Church of Pemberton, Pemberton Borough Republican Club and the Deborah Hospital Foundation Maple Shade Chapter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Lake in 2002 and is survived by many cousins and their families. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Pastor Tiffany S. Murphy officiating. Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Beverly National Cemetery.
