Obituary of Elsie F. Nyiri

Burlington Township: Elsie F. Nyiri, age 96 of Burlington Township, New Jersey and formerly of Roebling departed this life Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Masonic Village at Burlington. Mrs. Nyiri was born in Mansfield Township to the late William and Florence Oros Butala. Elsie was proud to call Roebling her home lifelong until moving to Burlington Township recently. She was formerly employed by Olivetti Underwood in Burlington and NADE in Bordentown. Elsie was a lifelong member of Holy Assumption Church in Roebling, the Altar Rosary Society of the church serving as past president, the Holy Assumption School Catering Committee, Florence Township Chapter of Deborah and the Willitts Hogan Tonne American Legion Unit 39. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Alex "Shine" Nyiri and sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Carmine Pastore. She is survived by her nephews and their spouses, Carmine W. and Linda Pastore, Edward and Peggy Pastore and Donald and Diane Pastore, great nieces and great nephews, Brielle Pastore Liptak and husband John, Eddie, Shane and Shyla, many cousins as well as special neighbors and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM on Wednesday at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Interment will be in Holy Assumption Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until church departure on Wednesday.
