Obituary of Charles L. "Lindy" Detterer

Burlington: Charles L. "Lindy" Detterer, age 93 of Burlington, New Jersey departed this life on Friday, September 24, 2021 in Brightview Senior Living in Mount Laurel with his loving family at his side. Mr. Detterer was born in Bordentown to the late Valentine J. and Irene De Worth Detterer. Charles called Roebling his home for 55 years before moving to Burlington in 2010. He was a retired machinist for John A. Roebling & Sons C.F.& I. in Roebling. Mr. Detterer served his country with honor in the US Navy during the Korean War. Charles was a member of Holy Assumption Church in Roebling, the Roebling Volunteer Fire Company, the Willitts Hogan Tonne American Legion Post 39 and the Opre Larson VFW Post 8838. Beside his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Dolores C. De Venuto Detterer and he is survived by his daughters, Kathleen and David D' Aprile and Linda Lebak, grandchildren, Danny Jr., Charles William and Thomas Michael as well as several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday 10:30 AM in Holy Assumption Church, Roebling. Friends may call Thursday from 8:30 AM until church departure at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling, NJ. Interment will be in Holy Assumption Cemetery, Roebling.
