Obituary of Theda A. Mauro

Lawrenceville: Theda A. Barra Mauro, age 95 of Lawrenceville, New Jersey departed this life on Saturday, August 21, 2021 in the company of her loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law in Penn Medicine Hospice, Princeton Health in Plainsboro. Mrs. Mauro was born in Manhattan, New York and was the daughter of the late Theodore and Lea LaRobia Barra. She resided in Hyde Park, New York before relocating to Lawrenceville in 1969. Mrs. Mauro was a retiree from the State of New Jersey after 29 years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Lawrenceville Senior Citizens and the New Jersey Poetry Society and shared her time and talent volunteering for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program of Mercer County. Her confident and endearing personality was a consistent inspiration to her children, family and friends. She was competent in history and literature as well as being gifted with eloquent ideas and the talent to express her ideas by writing refined poetry. Theda was an inspiration and mentor to her family, friends and colleagues and will be affectionately remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was an ardent advocate for the fine arts inspiring her children to be blessed with the passion to become accomplished music educators. Theda loved to travel, collect angel figurines, Yorkies, and attend theatre and musical performances. However, her most joyful times were spent with her family and celebrating their accomplishments. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Peter F. Mauro who passed away in 1988 and her son, Peter R. Mauro who passed away in 2014. She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Adrienne and Mark Mazar, daughter-in-law, Jean Mauro, her grandchildren and their spouses, Gabriella Mauro Raffo and Darrell Raffo, Eric and Ashley Mauro, Alexander and Kelly Mauro and Shane B. Mazar, her great grandchildren, Luciano Raffo, Enzo Mauro, Giuliana Raffo and Pia Mauro, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Funeral services and final disposition will be held privately. There will be no calling hours.
