Obituary of Hannah E. Roache

Please share a memory of Hannah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Burlington Township: Hannah E. Roache, age 79 of Burlington Township, New Jersey entered her eternal rest on Sunday, June 6, 2021 in the Samaritan Inpatient Hospice Center in the company of her loving family. Mrs. Roache was born in Trenton to the late Edward R. and Effie M. Grove Elliott. She resided in Florence Township before moving to Burlington Township 30 years ago. Hannah retired in 2002 from the Florence Township Board of Education where she taught third grade in the Roebling Elementary School for 38 years. Hannah was a person of great courage and determination. Her optimistic personality allowed her to accomplish her goals in life, both at home with her family and in the classroom nurturing the students. Hannah's integrity enabled her to be impartial, nondiscriminatory and honest. There was not a barrier or impediment that she could not conquer. She was an unwavering fan of her son's sporting events and was known to travel miles to cheer them on to victory. When Hannah was fulfilling the role of mom, she had the uncanny ability to always be aware of her son's actions. In addition to taking pride in her family she was gifted with the ability to master the art of cross stitch, create beautiful ornaments and sew baby blankets and bibs. She was also dedicated to sharing her expertise with her husband Jim's genealogy projects. Mrs. Roache was a member of the Florence United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years and a long-time, active member of the FTEA. She was predeceased by her husband, William T. Martin Jr. in 1985 and is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Carl "Jim" Roache, her children and their spouses, William T. III and Theresa Martin and Edward R. and Christine Martin, grandchildren, William T. Martin IV, Michael A. Martin, Edward R. Martin Jr., Joseph T. Martin and Matthew J. Martin, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Warren Suessegger, sister-in-law, Kathy Roache, dear cousin, Betty Ann Bloom, and other extended family members, dear friend, Maureen Sabo, and many wonderful friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Pastor Jessica Stenstrom officiating. Friends may call Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Florence. Hannah preferred no floral arrangements be sent to the funeral home.
