Obituary of Ruth L. Tonne

Roebling: Ruth L. Rossell Tonne, age 91 of Roebling, New Jersey, departed this life on Wednesday, June 2, 2021. Mrs. Tonne was born in Trenton to the late Thomas and Mary Jones Rossell. She resided in Roebling most of her life. In addition to raising her family, Ruth was employed by Michael Scott Leathers, Inc. in Roebling. Reading and bowling were an important part of her daily activities. However, going out for dinner was often the most outstanding part of her day. All who had the pleasure of knowing Ruth would agree that she was the most sincere and caring friend anyone could encounter. Mrs. Tonne was a lifelong member of the Trinity United Methodist Church of Roebling. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry E. Tonne, daughter, Diane Tonne, son, Harry Tonne, and son-in-law, Richard Sweet. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Lynn Sweet, daughter-in-law, Kelly Ann Tonne, grandchildren, Eric, Joshua, Michael and Ariel, great grandchildren, Scarlet, Penelope (Penny), Benjamin (Benny), Madeline, Phillip, Xander, Angelina and Dominic. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 11, 2021 at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Pastor Maritza Gonzalez officiating. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be held privately in Brigadier General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, N.
