Obituary of Joseph E. "Joe" Sacks

Florence Township: Joseph E. "Joe" Sacks, age 80 of Florence Township, New Jersey passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his home in the company of his loving family and dogs. Mr. Sacks was born in Bristol, the son of the late Joseph B. and Catherine Schweitzer Sacks. He resided in Hamilton Township for 30 years before moving to Florence Township 20 years ago. Joseph retired from De Laval in Trenton after 49 years of dedicated service. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Joseph's family was the single most important aspect of his life. His work ethic and commitment to his family was superb. Joseph often held multiple employment positions to provide all that he could for his family. Joe was the life of the party with his jokes and ability to socialize with flair. Besides enjoying his time with his family, he had a special place in his heart for his canine companions, Jack, Emmy and Calli. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 39 years in 2015, Helen Letts Sacks, Danyele M. Giovannini, Mina and Tom Metzler, Billy and Dottie Letts and Kay and Albert Letts. He is survived by his daughters and a son-in-law, Christine Borowsky and Cindy and Joe Chianese, grandchildren, Amber and Mike, Joseph, Michael, Thomas and James, brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Debbie Sacks, in - laws, Harry and Carol Letts, Barbara D'Artiglio, Nora and Roger Leip, Edward and Helen Letts and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday 12:00 PM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Deacon Ronald Schwoebel officiating. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Colonial Memorial Park, Hamilton.
