Obituary of Beverly A. Brearley

Please share a memory of Beverly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Beverly Ann Brearley passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020. Beverly was born and raised "back home" in Clearfield, PA, but she later called a farm in Florence, NJ her home. She lived in Florence for many years after having raised her family in Hamilton Square, NJ. She spent her final years in Myrtle Beach, SC. Beverly was a US Air Force veteran and a former Sunday school teacher. Beverly's greatest calling in life was as a homemaker and dedicated family confidant. Many lucky family and friends will remember trips and adventures with her, but the time she spent whistling in the kitchen making homemade pizza, cinnamon buns or other cherished recipes left just as deep an impact and inspired many family traditions. "Mema" had a talent for doing French braids and lending a listening ear. Her songs and her laugh were as warm as her smile, and she was so full of love that you would often find it leaking from her in the form of tears of joy or pride. In addition to deeply loving her family, Beverly enjoyed playing cards, watching her Philly sports teams and ice cream. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Wilma Straw and her husband, John Brearley. Beverly is survived by her children and their spouses, Jack and Debbie Brearley and Boni and Jeff Fitzwater, her brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Joyce Straw, grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Christina Brearley, Traci and Kevin Wainwright, Holly Brearley, Kylene and Charley Bauer, Rhon and Jennie Fitzwater and Bryan and Jessica Fitzwater, her great-grandchildren, Landon, Gwyneth, Kaden, Ava, Mirabelle, Kaia, Brenna, Mia, Henley, Alexa and Gianna and many other beloved family members. A Celebration of Life service for close friends and family will be held at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling, NJ on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 6:30 PM.
