Roebling: Thomas Lockett, age 89 of Roebling, New Jersey passed away Thursday, October 1, 2020 in Virtua Memorial Hospital, Willingboro. Mr. Lockett was born in Roebling and was the son of the late John and Mary Kovac Locket. He resided in Roebling lifelong and was employed by the C. F. & I. Corporation in Roebling, US Steel in Fairless, PA and retired from the Florence Township Board of Education. Mr. Lockett served his country honorably in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Thomas enjoyed simple pleasures in life. Some of his most enjoyable times were spent casting his fishing pole at his favorite fishing places. He was a member of the Willitts Hogan Tonne American Legion Post 39 in Roebling. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Ann Subers, Mary Kovac, John Lockett and George Locket. Thomas is survived by his sisters, Julia Talpos, Margaret Jaynes and Evelyn Whelan and his many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling, NJ. American Legion ritual services will be held during the calling hours. Interment will be private in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, North Hanover Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in memory of Thomas to the Abrams Brothers Scholarship, P.O. Box 85, Roebling, New Jersey 08554.
