Obituary of Virginia M. "Ginny" Del Casino
Mansfield Township: Virginia M. "Ginny" Barone Del Casino, age 99 of Homestead at Mansfield passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 18, 2020 in the company of her loved ones and friends. Mrs. Del Casino was born in Brooklyn, New York and was the daughter of the late Giuliano and Anna Andretta Barone. Virginia resided in Brooklyn before making Homestead at Mansfield her home for the past 32 years. She was an office manager for more than 30 years for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Brooklyn before her retirement. Ginny's life has been blessed with longevity and prosperity. She continued to take a keen interest in reading and maintained her skills in successfully completing crossword puzzles. Virginia was committed to her community, often coordinating activities for Homestead at Mansfield and she wholeheartedly devoted her life to her family. Mrs. Del Casino was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish (St. Andrew's Church) and the Willitts Hogan Tonne American Legion Unit 39. Besides being predeceased by her parents, she was the wife of the late Ernest J. Del Casino who passed away in 2014. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Northrup and son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jean Del Casino, her grandchildren, Darren Versace, Scott Versace, Daria Fisher, Edward Del Casino and Stephen Del Casino Jr., her great grandchildren, Alex, James and Jonathan as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services and final disposition will be held privately. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
