Roebling: John Lupex age 87 of Roebling, NJ passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. John was born at home in Roebling and grew up on the Lupex Farm in Hedding. He became the owner of Yardville Asphalt Paving in 1966 and retired in 2002. In his younger years, he was happiest when working on machinery and operating a roller. In his later life, he loved seeing and hearing about his grandchildren. He enjoyed many friendships throughout his life and always had a good story to tell. He was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary's Byzantine Romanian Catholic Church in Roebling. John was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Mary Peters Lupex, his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jack Schipske, his brother, Vick Lupex, his brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Joan Lupex and brother-in-law, Jim Kelly. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joanne, his children and their spouses, David and Debbie Lupex, Carol and Chris Knigge and John and Sandy Lupex, his grandchildren, Danielle Elmore and Josh, Lisa, Julia and Peter Knigge and great-grandson Caleb Elmore, his sisters, Veronica Kelly and Loretta Denney, brother, George Lupex, sister-in-law Ruth Lupex and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be on Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling, NJ. Funeral services will be held 11:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. George David officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Byzantine Romanian Catholic Cemetery, Mansfield Township. Social distancing and gathering restrictions will be in effect. All visitors will be required to wear a facial covering. John's family is grateful for everyone's cooperation.
