Obituary of Paul S. "Paulie" Luyber

Florence: Paul S. "Paulie" Luyber, age 80 of Florence, New Jersey passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at his daughter's residence in the company of his loving family. Mr. Luyber was born in Mount Holly and was the son of the late Paul and Julia Vencel Luyber. Paul resided in Florence Township lifelong. He was a graduate of Trenton Catholic Boys High School in Trenton and furthered his education to become a certified electrician. Mr. Luyber was a retired electrician employed by John A. Roebling & Sons C.F. & I. in Roebling and the General Motors plants in Ewing Township and Newport, Delaware for 25 years. He served his country honorably in the United States Army as a track vehicle mechanic with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade during the Vietnam War. Mr. Luyber was a member of the Opre Larson VFW Post 8838 in Roebling, the UAW Local 731 in Ewing and St. Clare's Church in Florence. Paul was a loving husband and absolutely wonderful father and pop pop. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, traveling with his siblings and their families and savored a delicious prime rib dinner when dining out at his favorite spots. Paul's positive personality and welcoming demeanor will remain in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Paul always showed special care and attention to anyone who was in need of repairs or assistance or by merely sharing his smile. Predeceased by his wife, Joan "Jody" Waldron Luyber who passed away in 2003, he is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Victoria Marie and David Lounsberry, grandchild, Alexa Noelle Houston, his siblings and a spouse, Elizabeth "Betty" Sisko, Mary "Marie" and Leonard Glick and Charlotte Deola, 5 nieces, 1 nephew, many cousins and his extended Waldron family and their families. Graveside services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery, Walnut and East Ninth Street, Florence, New Jersey.
