Obituary of Raymond C. George

Mercerville: Raymond C. George, age 83 of Mercerville, New Jersey passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020. Mr. George was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania and was the son of the late Robert and Stella Matree George. He resided in Hightstown before moving to Mercerville more than 40 years ago. Raymond was retired from the State of New Jersey with more than 40 years of dedicated service and served his country with honor in the United States Army Reserve during the Vietnam War. Raymond will be warmly remembered for his integrity, honesty and compassion toward his family, friends and coworkers and has been characterized as the best husband, stepfather, brother and friend that anyone could ask for in life. His handsome and radiant smile had the ability to brighten the room by his presence. All who had the privilege of knowing Raymond loved and respected him. Mr. George was a member of St. George's Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Yardville, New Jersey and the Italian American Sportsman Club in Hamilton Township. He is survived by his wife, Mariya Kozak George, stepchildren Serhii Kozak and Viktoriia Kozak, brother and sister-in-law, Robert Jr. and Mary Jane George, sister and brother-in-law, Rena and Albert Abraham and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will be held privately with Very Rev. Petro Levko officiating. Interment will be in St. Vladimir Orthodox Cemetery, Hamilton Township, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. George's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 839 Yardville-Allentown Rd., Yardville, NJ 08620.
