Burlington, Formerly of Roebling: Mary V. Montalto, age 94 of Burlington passed away Friday, December 13, 2019 in Samaritan Hospice, Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly. Mrs. Montalto was born in Roebling and was the daughter of the late Oren Harris and Mary Zelenak Arnold. She resided in Roebling most of her life before residing in Burlington for the past several years. Mary was an aficionado of the history of the Village of Roebling which she loved and was proud to call home for most of her life. She was a 1944 graduate of Florence Township Memorial High School. In 1984 Mary was recognized by the Township of Florence as the Citizen of the Year. She will be affectionately remembered for her wit and outstanding sense of humor, her exceptional baking skills, crafting talent and creating bridal memory books for all to reminisce and savor their cherished occasions. Mrs. Montalto took pleasure in reading and playing Bingo at the Manor in Burlington with her neighbors and friends. Mary was a member of the Roebling Historical Society, former member of the Roebling School PTA, serving as past president and former member of Holy Assumption Church in Roebling. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Eugene F. Montalto and siblings, Pat, Ray, Frank, Robert and Ethel. Mary is survived by her children and their spouses, Eugene and Barbara Montalto and Susan and Don Chance, grandchildren and their spouses, Michele and Neil Edwards, Mandy and Danny Owens, Sean and Elsie Wirth and Patrick Montalto and Tiffany Gevaras, great grandchildren, Connor, Claudia, Brooke, Colton and Austin, many nieces and nephews and their families. We remember in a special way Holly, her feline companion. Funeral services and burial will be held privately. There will be no calling hours.
