Port Orange FL, Douglas P. Bontya, age 69 of Port Orange, Florida passed away September 22, 2019 after a long health battle. Doug was born on March 15, 1950 in Roebling, New Jersey to the late Peter & Helen Dragos Bontya. After careers with both the Bordentown Township Police Department and Hills Refrigeration in Trenton, he retired where he continued his generous contributions to philanthropic causes. Doug was known as that guy that would give you the shirt of his back to help people in need. Mr. Bontya was also predeceased by his granddaughter Elizabeth Bontya and is survived by his son, Derek Bontya and companion Patricia Swanson, son, Dennis Bontya & wife Leticia and 6 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling with Lt. Dontay Gibson of the Salvation Army officiating.
