Obituary of Enrico G. "Ed" Carnassale

Mansfield Township: Enrico G. "Ed" Carnassale, age 79 of Homestead at Mansfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 in the company of his devoted family. Mr. Carnassale was born in Trenton and was the son of the late Filippo and Allegrina Morocco Carnassale. Ed resided in Fieldsboro and Florence Township most of his life before moving to Homestead at Mansfield recently. He had the exceptional ability to make people happy and was notorious for his hospitality, family picnics and his culinary capabilities. Ed found pleasure in fishing, hunting, gardening and his journeys to Atlantic City with his wife. Before his retirement he and his wife Linda were the proprietors of the Fieldsboro Inn. Mr. Carnassale was a life member of the BPOE 2085, Bordentown, American Citizen Slovak Club, Roebling and a life member of the American Legion Post 26. Mr. Carnassale was the former mayor of Fieldsboro. In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his siblings, Ben, Filomena & Lea and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Canniff Carnassale, sons & daughters-in-law, Philip & Heather Carnassale & Bill & Melinda Carnassale, grandchildren, Matthew, Graziella & Niccolo, brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Greg & Mary Canniff, sister-in-law, Patricia Bushee, uncle, Dan Morocco & his wife Betty, several nieces, nephews & cousins. Funeral services will be Monday 10:30 AM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Deacon Ronald Schwoebel officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Monday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Final disposition will be held privately. BPOE services will be held during the calling hours on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the BPOE 2085 Youth Activities Committee, 11 Amboy Rd, Bordentown, NJ 08505 or a charity of the donor's choice.
