Roebling: Elizabeth R. "Betty" Amon, age 83 of Roebling died Saturday, April 27, 2019 in the comfort of her home. Mrs. Amon was born in Trenton and was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Erin Matuzsan. She was a retired auditor, employed by the State of New Jersey in Trenton for more than 35 years. Betty lived a good life. Her most pleasurable times were spent with her family and caring for her canine friends. She took great pride in her gardening and being a resident of the Village of Roebling for most of her life. Mrs. Amon was a member of Holy Assumption Church, the Willitts Hogan Tonne American Legion Unit 39 and the JAR Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard J. Gilfillan, husband, Raymond Bintliff and husband, Nicholas Amon, her daughter, Debra Gilfillan-Brinsfield, son, Mark Gilfillan and her siblings, Sophie, Mary, Helen & Michael. Betty is survived by her daughter, Bernadette Haynes, grandchildren, Rachel & Stephanie, 2 great grandchildren, extended family, Nathan, Violet, Julien & Gavin, many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the church for a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11:00 AM in Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. There will be no calling hours. Inurnment will be in Holy Assumption Cemetery, Roebling. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, County Facilities Complex, 35 Academy Drive, Westampton, NJ 08060.
