Obituary of Maurice Parker Mullen

Roebling, Maurice Parker Mullen, age 86 of Roebling passed away Wednesday in Samaritan Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mount Holly. Mr. Mullen was son of the late Thomas and Mary Wonderlin Mullen. Parker was born in Florence Township and was a lifelong resident. He retired from Yates Industries where he was a Waste Treatment Supervisor and also worked for John A. Roebling & Sons (CF&I Corp), and the R.D. Wood Company. Mr. Mullen was a member of St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church and assisted in many of the church fund raisers and activities. During his retirement Parker was a Florence Township Crossing Guard at Holy Assumption School and the Roebling Elementary School #5. Some of his enjoyments were woodworking and baseball card collecting. He also loved baseball and had a passion for coaching youth baseball in town. Additionally, Parker was honored as the Florence Township Citizen of the Year. Mr. Mullen was predeceased by his wife, Jean Lawrence Mullen, son Larry Mullen, brother, Mike Mullen and sister Roberta Barnes. He survived by a son Jim Mullen, son & daughter-in-law, Kevin & Buffy Mullen, grandchildren, Larry, Jr., Michael, Heather, James, Branden, Lawrence, Abigail, Amy & Ken, great grandchildren, Emily, April, Logan, Ty, Jaxon, Brooklyn, Abel, Amos, Isaac, Benjamin & Gabriella, brother & sister-in-law, Richard & Nancy Mullen, sister, Catherine Bihlear and brother & sister-in-law, Bill & Robyn Mullen and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:00 AM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Ave., Roebling with Fr. Yuriy Oros officiating.  Friends may call Monday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Florence. Memorial contributions may be made to Florence Township New Jersey, 711 Broad St., Florence NJ 08518, Attention Recreation, in memory of Maurice Parker Mullen.
