Obituary of Edward J. Brock
Mansfield Township: Edward J. Brock, age 91 of Homestead at Mansfield died Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Mr. Brock was the son of the late Edmund and Anna Agner Brock. He resided in Fairlawn, Passaic and Garfield before moving to Homestead at Mansfield in 1989. Ed retired as a Industrial Engineer employed by Curtiss Wright in Wood Ridge, NJ after many years of dedicated service. After his retirement, Mr. Brock was employed by Lockheed Martin. Ed enjoyed collecting coins and delighted in being a supporter of the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates. His most pleasurable times were spent with Claire and his family near the ocean at his summer home in Wildwood Crest. He unselfishly volunteered numerous hours in Deborah Hospital and Virtua Memorial Hospital. Ed served his community as chairman of the Homestead Bingo Committee for several years. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, wife, Mary Anne Ruppert Brock and daughter, Maureen E. DeGisi. He is survived by his daughter & son-in-law, Patricia Ann & James DeTitta, son-in-law, Carl DeGisi, 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Dena & Jon Kirchart, Danielle & Peter Throndson, Brittany & Charles Tacopino, Carl Joseph and Nicole, 4 great grandchildren, Colin & Ryan Kirchart, Grayson Brock Tacopino and Everly Throndson, beloved partner, Claire Heinzinger and her children and their spouses, Glenn & Deborah Oldham, Jacqueline & Bob Dixon, and Scott Oldham, 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan and Alethea Dixon, Keri Dixon, Sarah & Bill Cavalier, Liane Oldham, Rita Oldham and 1 great grandchild, Tegan Dixon. Funeral will be Saturday 10:00 AM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 11:00 AM at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Ave, Roebling. Friends may call Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Florence.
