Obituary of Joseph Halko

Daytona Beach, Joseph Halko, Sr., age 87 of Daytona Beach, died Thursday at home. Mr. Halko was born in Trenton and resided in the area until his retirement from Wherry Doors and Hardware. Joseph was a veteran of WWII. He was the manager and accordion player of the Star Dust Orchestra. They played at many of the local weddings and dances. Mr. Halko was a member of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Holy Trinity. Son of the late Alexander & Mary Halko, husband of the late Mary Blasczyn Halko, and father of the late Joseph Halko Jr. He is survived by his wife of 5 years: Loretta Rector Halko of Yardley, PA 2 sisters Helen Mikuliak of Morrisville, PA & Sophie Hibbs of Ewing, NJ Daughter-in-law Jean Halko of Bordentown, NJ 4 grandchildren Melissa Cantarella of Scotsdale, AZ, Julie Griner of Phillipsburg, NJ, Joseph Halko III of Trenton, NJ and Brian Kieffer of FL 6 great grandchildren Very special uncle to many nieces & nephews Funeral will be Wednesday 11:00 AM at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Of The Holy Trinity, 824 Adeline Street, Trenton with Rev. Ivan Lymar officiating under the direction of Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, Roebling. Friends may call Wednesday from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church.
