Roebling and Normandy Beach, Dr. Edward J. Dimon, age 88 of Roebling, died Monday in Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mount Holly. Dr. Dimon was born in Trenton, he was the son of the late George and Mary Vrabel Dimon and the brother of the late John Dimon, Esquire. He resided in Roebling lifelong. He retired in 2000 after practicing Dentistry in Roebling for 54 years. Edward was a US Army veteran of WWII. Dr. Dimon was a graduate of Bordentown High School Class of 1937, Villanova University, and Temple University School of Dentistry. He was a member of the Florence Twp. Board of Education and served as the Florence Twp. School District Dentist for 40 years. Edward was a NJ Marine Police officer with 10 years service. Dr. Dimon was a member of St. Clare's Catholic Church, Florence and Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Normandy Beach and former member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 63 year member of the Willitts Hogan Tonne American Legion Post 39, Roebling, Holy Cross High School Father's Club serving as president in 1961/1962. He was also a member of the Trenton Country Club, member and Past Commodore of the Normandy Beach Yacht Club. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Marion A. Dougherty Dimon Son & daughter-in-law, Edward J. & Jane Dimon of Brielle Daughter Margaret Mary "Mimi" Dimon of Roebling & Normandy Beach 5 grandchildren & their spouses, Drs. Cain & Karin Dimon of Novi, Michigan, Christopher & Dana Dimon of Fanwood - Scotch Plains, Meg & Guy Douglas of London, England, Catherine Dimon of Hoboken & Patrick Dimon of Aspen, Colorado 6 Great Grandchildren, Lily Dimon, Finlay Douglas, Jack Dimon, Mary Douglas, Owen Dimon, & Eva Dimon Brother & Sister-in-law, George & Mary Dimon of Roebling 5 Sisters-in-law, Margaret Dougherty, Jane Dougherty, Catherine Dougherty & Virginia Dimon of Florence, Muriel Dougherty of Columbus. Many Nieces & Nephews & their families. Funeral will be Friday 10:00 AM at Koschek And Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday 11:00 AM at St. Clare's Catholic Church 232 East Front St., Florence with Rev. Felix Venza officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Florence.
