Obituary of Robert T. “Bob” Coates Jr.

Florence, Robert T. Bob Coates, Jr., age 79 of Florence, died Friday at home. Mr. Coates was born in Florence, he is the son of the late Robert T Sr. and Gertrude Willitts Coates. He was a lifelong Florence resident. Mr. Coates was a retired Correction Officer, employed by Albert Wagner Correctional Facility Bordentown, with 32 years of service. He was a US Army veteran of World War II . Bob will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and great sense of humor. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, enjoyed his walks and spending time in Ocean City and Atlantic City, NJ. Mr. Coates was a member of Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Roebling, Francis W. Robbins American Legion Post 194, Florence, and PBA 105, Trenton. Former member of the Florence Twp. Board of Education. Brother of the late Elsie Hughes and Richard Coates He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Ruth A.
