Florence: Joseph H. "Joe" Price Jr, age 68 of Florence, New Jersey completed his journey at his home on Monday, February 12, 2024. Mr. Price was born in Abington, PA, and was the son of the late Joseph H. Price and Helen Miles Price. He was raised in Willow Grove and resided there before relocating to Florence in 1980. Joe was a retired project manager for the Department of Defense, Fort Dix, NJ with 40 years of exemplary service. He served his country with honor in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Price was a member of Holy Assumption Church in Roebling, the Francis W. Robbins American Legion Post 194 in Florence, serving as Past Post Commander and was a member of their Honor Guard and Rifle Squad, the American Citizen Slovak Club, serving as past president, the BPOE Lodge 2085 in Bordentown and he was also a member of the Opre Larson VFW Post 8838 in Roebling. Joe savored the importance of the camaraderie and companionship of the members and friends he made at the Slovak Club, especially during club visits, their golf outings and his routine Sunday morning "Tee Times" with his close buddies. Some of Joseph's most pleasurable times were spent cheering on Notre Dame's Fighting Irish football team, sharpening his skills on the golf course and unwinding during his "Pool Time". He shared his time and talents with his community by lending a helping hand to his neighbors, friends and family. Joe unselfishly served on the committee to honor the Veterans in Florence Township with a Veterans Memorial honoring those who served their Country. He never passed up the opportunity to make new friends. Joseph had a special bond with his dog, Harlee often taking the dog for a walk to visit neighbors just to brighten their day. He will be celebrated as a kind, loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Beside his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Eileen Wahl, and Helen Klinger. He is survived by his devoted wife of 34 years, Janice Boyd Price, his loving children and a spouse, Kristin and David Hunt, Kelly Price, Pamela Berry and Joseph H. Price III, his cherished grandchildren, Katelyn and Nicholas DeDea and Gia Graziano, several nieces, nephews and cousins, his "Canine Bestie", Harlee as well as many enduring friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling.
