Obituary of Francesca "Frances" M. Tondi

Florence: Francesca "Frances" M. Morichetti Tondi, age 90 of Florence, New Jersey completed her journey on Friday, February 2, 2024 in her home in the company of her loving family. Mrs. Tondi was born in Florence and was proud to call Florence her home lifelong. She was the daughter of the late Prasildo and Antonia Benvenuti Morichetti. In addition to raising her family, she was a beautician and cafeteria aid in Holy Assumption School in her early career and was a retired secretary for the State of New Jersey Department of Insurance in Trenton. Frances, affectionately known to many as "Aunt Fran" will be celebrated for her kind, caring and generous nature. She had the ability to find the "Best Qualities" in everyone and soon became their friend. Fran had impeccable style and a special charisma about her that made you want to be around her and share her love. She was amazing in the kitchen and enjoyed preparing her special recipes for her family and friends. She took great pride in her garden and landscaping her home while appreciating the solace that nature provided. However, fulfilling the role of "mom-mom" to her grandchildren was paramount to her. Mrs.Tondi was a member of Mary Mother of the Church Parish, Holy Assumption Church and the Altar Rosary Society of the church, the Good Neighbors Senior Citizens and a former member of Holy Assumption School PTA. In addition to her parents, Fran was predeceased by her husband, Moses Tondi in 1973 and her siblings, Paulo, Albert and Bruno Morichetti. She is survived by her loving children, Dawn M. Tondi and Mark Tondi, her cherished grandchildren, Victoria Morgan Butler and Thomas Andrew Butler III, sisters-in-law, Ceil Morichetti and Ada Morichetti, many, many nieces and nephews as well as many friends who were like family to her. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Thursday at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Rev. Martin O'Reilly officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 8:00 AM until church departure at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Final disposition will be in Calvary Cemetery, Florence.
