Obituary of Margaret H. Binns

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Florence Township: Margaret H. Binns age 85 of Florence, N.J. died January 17, 2024 at VNA Hospice House with her family by her side in Vero Beach, Florida.

Margaret was born in Trenton N.J. and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Bigus Tatrai. Margaret was a devoted, loving wife to Charles E. Binns for 44 years until he passed away in 2007. Preceded in death by her brother, William Tatrai, wife Leona Tatrai, brother, Joseph Tatrai and nephews, Michael and Bill Tatrai.

Margaret was a graduate of Florence Township Memorial High School, class of 1957. She resided in Roebling and Florence lifelong. She retired from the State of New Jersey Health Department Senior Services with 25 years of service. She later worked at Mathematica Policy Research, Inc in Princeton N.J. as a project assistant for 15 years. There she made a lot of friends that became family to her.

Margaret was a member of Holy Assumption Church, Roebling N.J. She was very involved volunteering for the PTA at Holy Assumption School and loved volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader and selling Girl Scout cookies. She was a member of the Good Neighbors Senior Citizens Club where she enjoyed everyone's friendship. She enjoyed bingo and especially trying her luck at the slot machines at the casinos, loved to bake Hungarian kiflie's and make stuffed cabbage. She enjoyed going to the neighbor's picnics and family parties. Her friends were always there for her and she was loved by many. Margaret was known to google everything on her cell phone and send long text messages. She loved visiting her daughter and family in Florida but wouldn't move there because she loved her hometown and neighborhood. She was very proud to be Hungarian and would always tell people she met that she was from N.J. Perhaps, her all-time favorite moments were being mom-mom to her grandchildren. In addition to loving all of her own grandchildren, Margaret embraced the love of Ava and Brenna Bauer of N.J., Ali (Simpson) Nadon of Alaska and Brantley Simpson of Florida. They were a huge part of her life as she enjoyed watching them grow up. Margaret's fondest memories were times spent with her friends in N.J. and family and friends in Florida.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Binns) Pearson, son-in-law, Chuck Pearson, grandchildren, Lisa and Kevin Pearson, son David Binns and family, sister-in-law, Peggy Tatrai of West Virginia, nephew, Wayne Tatrai of Hawaii, niece, Stephanie Rhodes, husband Rodger, children, Raven, Ralphie and Rodney of West Virginia.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet 10:00 AM Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 AM at Holy Assumption Church. Everyone is invited to join the family on Monday, February 5, 2024 at 10:30 AM to take Marge to her final resting place with her husband, Charles in Brigadier General William C.
