Obituary of Milton J. Hershberger

Roebling: Milton J. Hershberger, age 96 departed this life on Thursday, December 21, 2023. Milton was born in Roebling, New Jersey and resided there for the majority of his life. He was a retired Business Teacher for the Burlington Township Board of Education with 30 years of exemplary service and also retired from ABCO Federal Credit Union serving as their CEO for 58 years. Mr. Hershberger served his country with honor in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Sts. Stephen and Barnabas Episcopal Church in Florence and the Willitts Hogan Tonne American Legion Post 39 in Roebling. Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Milton Hirchberger and Katherine Weisinger Hirchberger, his wife, Lois Donnelly Hershberger and his sister Catherine. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Bruce McElyea, son, Paul Hershberger, grandson and spouse, Anthony and Ianthe, great grandchildren, Ionie and Amaya, niece, Jeanette Pacharis and nephew, Tom Schaeffer. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, December 28, 2023 at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Father Ryan Paetzold officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Sts. Stephen and Barnabas Cemetery, Florence.
