Obituary of Donald R. Episcopo

Burlington Township: Donald R. Episcopo, age 86 of Burlington Township, New Jersey completed his journey on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. Don was affectionately known to some as "Coo Coo" and "Road Dog" Mr. Episcopo was born in Trenton and was the son of the late Joseph Paul Episcopo and Fannie Anna Conti Episcopo. He resided in Roebling for 11 years before calling Burlington Township his home since 1975. He was a retired body and frame mechanic for G and E Auto Body in Hamilton and Chambers Street Auto Body with 46 years of dedicated service. Donald served his country with honor in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He will be celebrated for his "Larger Than Life" personality and for the wonderful man he was. Some of his most treasured times were spent enjoying his excursions on his motorcycle with his fiancé, Nancy and perfecting his skills in his dart league. Mr. Episcopo was a member of the American Citizens Slovak Club in Roebling serving as past president, the Florence Township Volunteer Fire Company #1 and the Francis W. Robbins, American Legion Post 194 in Florence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Cliver Episcopo in 1995 and his siblings, Richard Episcopo and Bernice Kardos. He is survived by his fiancé and loving companion, Nancy S. Gulden, many nieces and nephews including Maryann Kardos, his extended family, Jennifer and Miki Jimenez and their family as well as his canine companion, Dillon and his feline bestie, Peek-a-Boo. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday at Holy Assumption Church, 1290 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling with Rev. Cesar Anson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to the Burlington County Animal Shelter, 35 Academy Drive, Westampton NJ 08060.
