Obituary of Rita A. Hellthaler

Pennington: Rita A. Sorrentino Hellthaler, age 84 of Pennington, New Jersey entered her eternal life on Friday, October 6, 2023 in the company of her loving family. Mrs. Hellthaler was born in Pennsylvania to the late James Sorrentino and Lottie Vitkowski Sorrentino. She resided in Ewing, Browns Mills and Trenton before calling Pennington her home for the past 25 years. As a young woman Rita worked for her family’s business, Sorrentino’s Mirror Lake Restaurant in Browns Mills. She retired from the Pemberton Township Board of Education as an Elementary School Secretary after 30 years of exemplary service. Rita always found time to read a good book, enjoyed the challenge of completing puzzles and found peace while tending to her garden. She also looked forward to the times she spent vacationing in Daytona Beach, Florida. Perhaps her greatest joy was fulfilling the role of grandmother to her seven grandchildren. Mrs. Hellthaler was a former member of St. Ann's Church in Browns Mills. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Vincent W. Hellthaler Jr. in 1989 and her siblings, RoseMarie Theer and James Sorrentino. Rita is survived by her devoted children and their spouses, Mark Hellthaler, Susan and Brian Edwards, Kevin and Ericka Hellthaler and Michele and Martin Mulryne, her cherished grandchildren, Kristin, Paige, Emily, Vincent, Jacob, Riley and Connor, brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Jean Sorrentino as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling, NJ. Final disposition will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations are made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
