Obituary of Jean Rebeles

Roebling: Jean Rebeles, age 97 of Roebling, New Jersey peacefully entered her eternal life at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, September 15, 2023. Mrs. Rebeles was born in Florence and was the daughter of the late Dominic and Antoinette Pieretti. Jean affectionately referred to Roebling as her home for the past 70 years. As a young woman Jean began working at Jimmie’s Luncheonette in Florence where she met the love of her life, Louis Rebeles Jr. In addition to raising her family, she also worked for J. Chein in Burlington along with her loving sister-in-law, Julia Kish with many years of faithful service. Jean and her husband, Louis always looked forward to their excursions to the Atlantic City Casinos. Later in her life she continued to enjoy going to the casinos with her family and looked forward to revealing her daily "Lottery" pick. Her family will be forever grateful for the Sunday picnics under the weeping willow tree and for her gracious hospitality. Jean will be fondly remembered for her exceptional generosity toward her family and friends and her utmost love and kindness. She will remain always on our minds and forever in our hearts. Mrs. Rebeles was a faithful member of St. Mary's Byzantine Romanian Catholic Church in Roebling and the Altar Rosary Society of the church. Beside her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Louis Rebeles Jr. in 2004, her son, Victor Rebeles in 1993, her siblings and their spouses, Alfredo, Hugo, Orlando and Margaret Pieretti and Anita Rinaldi, Mary Davis, Pearl Ficarotta and their spouses, Lois, Sam, Ray and Rudy. She is survived by her loving and devoted son and daughter-in-law, Cornel and Madeline Rebeles, her cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Lisa and Greg Bellotti, Jeffrey and Lori Rebeles, Douglas and Maryana Rebeles and Lori and Bruce Wilson, her 12 great grandchildren, 3 great, great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will be 11:00 AM Friday at St. Mary's Byzantine Romanian Catholic Church in Roebling with Rev. George David officiating. Friends may call Friday from 8:30 AM until church departure at Koschek and Porter Funeral Directors, 1115 Hornberger Avenue, Roebling. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
